In shield tunneling construction, scraper tools such as cutters and blades are typically fixed to the cutterhead using a bolted connection. From the perspectives of cutterhead manufacturability and maintainability, the seats—equipped with internal threads—are made from low-carbon alloy steel. These seats are then welded directly to the cutterhead’s baseplate, allowing for easy replacement if the seat becomes damaged. Considering both material costs and construction processes, low-carbon alloy steel remains the preferred material for manufacturing these cutterhead seats.

① It has excellent machinability, is easy to shape into various forms, and comes at a relatively low cost.

②Due to the low carbon and silicon content of the base material, it typically does not develop severe hardened or quenched structures during welding. Additionally, the higher manganese content helps prevent hot cracking. As a result, no special welding procedures are usually required, making this material highly weldable.

③ Raw materials are easy to procure, and production costs are low.

The company has successfully obtained certification under the GB/T19001-2000 standard for quality systems related to the design, development, production, and service of rock-cutting tools and wear-resistant liners. By integrating technology import with internal R&D—combining independent innovation with collaborative development—the company has actively participated in national key projects such as the "Seventh Five-Year Plan" initiative on advanced wear-resistant materials and vertical shaft tunneling cutter technology, as well as the national science and technology programs focused on TBM and shield machines. Additionally, the company has been involved in the prestigious "863" National High-Tech Research and Development Program. Notably, it has also taken on the SME Innovation Fund Project for shield machine cutters and the National Torch Program project. As a result, the company’s flagship products—rock-cutting tools and wear-resistant components—have evolved into a diverse range of high-quality, multi-variety, and fully serialized offerings.
